RAVS - Registered Abdominal and Vascular Specialist

A Registered Abdominal and Vascular Specialist (RAVS) assists physicians in the diagnosis of disorders affecting the cardiovascular and abdominal structure. 


Registered Abdominal and Vascular Specialist Certificate defines a professional who is well trained and must be able to perform and  noninvasive procedures using ultrasound instruments to record vascular information such as vascular blood flow, blood pressure, cerebral circulation, peripheral circulation, and abdominal circulation.


RAVS must be able to distinguish sonographic appearances, measurements, instrumentations, basic cardiac interpretations, EKG's peripheral venous/arterial studies. As well as, identify abdominal aortic aneurysm, aortic enlargement, branches that supply the interior extremities and upper extremities. Distinctive studies differ from state to state.


RAVS certification holder is a knowledgeable, skilled, and qualified professional who passed set of national standards theoretically and clinically.

Member Must complete the following CME Courses on Medicare Learning Network in order to renew credentials:

1.Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) 
2.Infection Control: Environmental Safety (60 minutes)
3.Infection Control: Hand Hygiene (60 minutes)
4.Avoiding Medicare Fraud& Abuse: (30 minutes
