NCMA Credentialing Policy Pack
This document outlines the credentialing governance, examination standards, ethical oversight, disciplinary authority, and renewal policies of the National Certification Medical Association (NCMA).
1. Governance Structure
NCMA is governed by an Advisory Board composed of licensed healthcare professionals and subject-matter experts. The Advisory Board oversees credentialing standards, exam validity, scope alignment, and public protection.
2. Examination Integrity
NCMA administers standardized national written examinations designed to assess minimum professional competency. Examination content is role-specific, competency-based, and periodically reviewed to ensure relevance and integrity.
3. Separation of Education and Certification
NCMA operates independently of educational institutions and training providers. Completion of a training program does not guarantee certification.
4. Ethical Standards
All credential holders must comply with the NCMA Code of Ethics, which includes professional conduct, patient safety, and legal compliance.
5. Disciplinary Authority
NCMA maintains authority to investigate complaints and impose disciplinary actions, including suspension or revocation of credentials when warranted.
6. Credential Validity and Renewal
NCMA credentials are time-limited and require renewal. Renewal is contingent upon continued good standing and completion of continuing education requirements.
7. Public Protection Statement
NCMA credentialing standards are designed to protect the public by ensuring that certified professionals meet national competency requirements.
